SCOTLAND COUNTY, NC (WBTW) – The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Maxton, NC man in connection with a break-in of a business where $22,000 worth of equipment was stolen.

Investigators arrested 27-year-old Jonathan Reid Scott Friday for breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering of a Scotland County business where equipment valued at $22,000 was stolen. Sheriff Ralph Kersey says some of the equipment in this case was located and recovered at a Robeson County pawn shop. The recovered property was returned to the business owner.

During the investigation, additional property was located at a Robeson County pawn shop that was stolen from a home located in Laurinburg. That information was turned over to the Laurinburg Police Department, confirms Sheriff Kersey. Scott has not been charged in that case.

Scott was placed in the Scotland County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
