LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – A man was shot several times inside his home on Cherokee Street Thursday night, according to officials with the Lumberton Police Department.
Lieutenant Harold Jackson says officers responded to the home in the 1100 block of Cherokee Street around 7:52 p.m. Thursday to find a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The homeowner was shot numerous times inside his home and is being treated at an undisclosed hospital, although his condition was not given, Lt. Jackson adds.
A person of interest is being sought by police, according to Lt. Jackson, but neither a suspect name nor suspect description was given.
