LAKE CITY, SC (WBTW) – The Lake City Police Department is investigating a shooting on Taylor Street that happened late Tuesday night, according to the department’s Facebook page.
Investigators believe people broke into a home for a robbery shortly before midnight. During the robbery, the homeowner was shot and taken to the hospital.
Lake City Police Chief Kipp Coker says the male victim was shot in the side and as of Wednesday afternoon, he was in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.
According to Chief Coker, the investigation continues and police have asked the Florence County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in the case.
