DILLON, SC (WBTW) – The Dillon County coroner is investigating after a man was shot in Dillon Friday morning.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley said Alfred Lamont White, 33, of Dillon, died Friday morning after he was shot at a home on N. 11th Ave.
According to an incident report, Dillon Police were called to the home on North 11th. Avenue in Dillon, but before they arrived, White flagged down one of the officers in front of a feed store on West Main Street, about a third of a mile from the house.
White told officers that he had been shot and ran away from the scene. Soon after, White collapsed, and later died at the hospital.
At the house, investigators discovered one shell casing on the sidewalk about three or four feet from the base of the stairs. The report says it appears to be a .22 caliber casing.
Grimsley says an autopsy is being done to determine cause of death.
