Man sexually assaulted toddler girl, Williamsburg County Deputies say

A Williamsburg County man is facing a felony sex charge after investigators say he molested a toddler girl, officials said Tuesday night.

Eddie Pressley, age 49, of Salters SC, was arrested on Tuesday by deputies with the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Investigator Alex Edwards said in a press release.

Pressley, of Buttercup Road, “is alleged to have committed sexual battery upon a 3-year-old victim (at a home) in Salters,” officials said in a press release.

The alleged incident happened on Monday and the toddler girl was examined at Williamsburg Regional Hospital, according to an arrest warrant. The girl was then sent to the Medical University of South Carolina, where a “forensic medical examination could be performed,” an arrest warrant said.

Pressley is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, Edwards said.

Pressley was being held at the Williamsburg County Detention Center.

Under SC law, criminal sexual conduct with a minor (first degree) is a felony punishable by a mandatory minimum of 25-years in prison, no part of which may be suspended nor probation granted, or must be imprisoned for life, Edwards added.
