MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)- Myrtle Beach Police are investigating an aggravated assault after an incident between a landlord and tenant.
Officers say they responded to the condo on 29th Avenue North around 6:00 Saturday night. According to the police report, when officers arrived the landlord said the tenant became upset when he said he was not going to give the deposit back for the condo rented.
The landlord told police that’s when the tenant pointed a shotgun at him. In the police report, the landlord says he told the tenant “the deposit was not worth getting shot over” and he would send the money. The tenant responded that if he didn’t send the money, “he would get him”, according to the report.
Officers on scene say the tenant was already gone when they arrived. The victim told police the person placed the gun in the back seat of a four door silver car and left towards Kings Highway.
Police say they tried to make contact with the tenant but were unable to do so. Officers say they have filed paperwork to see if they can obtain an arrest warrant.
