FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – A man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 37 years in the shooting death of a woman in Florence.

According to Ed Clements, with the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, George McCall pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 37 years.

The shooting happened on Blass Drive in July 2017.

When police arrived, they found a woman who was shot in a home, Lt. Mike Brandt, with the Florence Police Department, previously told News13. She was taken to the hospital but later died from her injuries. Brandt added that the suspect left the scene and was detained a short time later by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The Florence County Coroner’s Office previously said Amanda Robinson, 36, of Florence, died.
