Man jailed after shooting victim shows up at Myrtle Beach Waffle House

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach police say a North Carolina man is in jail after a shooting victim was found at a Waffle House Sunday afternoon.

Captain David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department says officers were called to the Waffle House, located at 711 Frontage Road, Sunday around 3 p.m. after a call that a gunshot wound victim was at the restaurant.

After investigating, officers obtained warrants for Dalyn Barber, 22, of North Carolina. Captain Knipes confirms Barber turned himself into police Monday and is charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun, brandishing a firearm, discharging a firearm within city limits, and obstruction of justice.

Police have not commented on where the actual shooting took place, a motive for the shooting or if the suspect and victim know one another. A police report for the shooting was not immediately available.

Barber is expected to be in court Tuesday morning.
