HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)- Horry County Police officers now have a man in custody they say was involved in an assault Tuesday night.
Sergeant Dorio with Horry County Police says around 10:00 Tuesday night officers responded to a call in the Starboard Court area of the Salters Cove neighborhood of shots fired. According to the officers, neighbors reported seeing a white car speeding out of the area shortly after.
Sergeant Dorio says upon arrival officers found a homeowner who had been assaulted. No word on the injuries or exactly what happened.
While officers were on scene investigating the assault, Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a call of an accident with an overturned vehicle off Freewoods and Salem Road.
Officers say the description matched that of the one involved in the assault at Starboard Court.
Horry County Police say the suspect was hiding in the area of the accident and that’s where they arrested him around 2:30 Wednesday morning.
Sgt. Dorio says charges are pending in the case and the Horry County Police Department should release more information Wednesday morning.
