MAXTON, NC (WBTW) – The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a Rowland man Wednesday morning.

According to a press release, 48-year-old James Oxendine was found shot in the yard of Brooks Feeds and Hunting Supplies on US 74 West in Maxton.

Deputies say he was involved in an argument with 20-year-old Brian Carl Oxendine of Pembroke.

First degree murder warrants were issued for Oxendine.

Deputies say Oxendine turned himself in Wednesday afternoon and has been charged with first degree murder.
