BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Bennettsville police arrested a man on multiple drug charges Friday morning. 

Following a K9 drug search at 8 Ella Street around 9:30 a.m., police found crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy in the gas tank of Tommy Adams Jr.’s car. Police also found a handgun in his glove compartment, according to Lieutenant Larry Turner with the Bennettsville Police Department.  

Lt. Turner says Adams will be charged with possession with intent to distribute of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute powder cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute ecstasy and felon in possession of a handgun.

Officers say this has been an ongoing investigation since October. Adams was charged with distribution of crack cocaine after an undercover drug buy in November.

Adams is being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, according to Lt. Turner.
