A man reportedly dressed as a woman is accused of robbing a convenience store in Longs.
A police report from the Horry County Police Department says police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Sunhouse Gas station on Highway 905 in Longs around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
The report also says a victim told police someone walked into the liquor area of the store and asked for mini bottles of liquor. The victim then asked for identification and the suspect didn’t have identification. The suspect gave the victim a note that read “I will shoot you, give me all the money.” The victim put a handbag on the counter and the suspect reached into the bag “as if he had a firearm.” The victim gave the suspect cash and the suspect took the handbag, money, the note, and two mini bottles of liquor. The suspect then made the victim lay on the floor behind the register before he left the building.
The suspect was seen wearing a white ball cap with a long brown wig, sunglasses, a long-sleeved white shirt with pink designs, and blue jeans, according to the report. A victim said “all of the clothing was an attempt to make himself look like a woman.”
The suspect was last seen on Highway 31 heading towards a boat landing.
