LUMBERTON (WBTW) – Lumberton Rescue and EMS found a man who died Saturday evening in Lumberton.
According to Commander Roger Taylor, a man died after he jumped off a platform in the lake at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton. Taylor said the man never came back up after jumping into the water.
Two firefighters, LPD Officer, Lumberton Rescue personnel and life guards were able to find the victim and bring him back to shore. Taylor said they attempted CPR during the rescue but weren’t able to revive him.
The man’s identity has not yet been released.
