Horry County Police are investigating a shooting that happened Friday evening, police said.
The incident happened around 7:35 pm at a home on Racepath Street.
The coroner identifies the victim as 21-year-old Nigeria McDonald. Officials say she was shot and then taken to Grand Stand Medical Center where she died at 9:05 pm.
Lt. Raul Denis with HCPD say officers took James A. Wilson, age 22, of North Myrtle Beach, into custody in connection with the shooting on Saturday.
He has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and criminal domestic violence high aggravated nature. His bail has not been set.
