MARION, SC (WBTW) – Marion police say they are investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead in her home.
According to Chief Dewayne Tennie of the Marion Police Department, officers found Mary Magdaline Reddick in her home Sunday on Herb Levy Road with several gunshot wounds. A press release from police says Reddick and the suspect were acquaintances.
On Thursday, Tennie said Kendrick Deleon Reaves was charged with murder.Online booking records indicate Reaves was also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, discharging firearms in the city, and attempted murder in connection to a double shooting that injured two people that also happened that weekend.
Booking information confirms Reaves was booked Sunday at 12 a.m. and is currently being held at the Marion County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
“The safety and security of the citizens of Marion is paramount and we are glad that we were able bring some type of closure and peace of mind to the family by identifying the suspect and ensuring that he is no longer walking the streets,” Chief Dewayne Tennie stated.
