A man has been charged with attempted murder in a shooting on Christmas Day in Horry County. 

An incident report from the Horry County Police Department lists Jarrell Lorenzo James, 23, of Powell St. in Conway, as a suspect in the incident. 

On December 25 around 10:35 p.m., officers responded to a gas station in the area of 3656 S. Highway 701 South in Conway for a report of shots fired into an occupied vehicle, according to the report. The report lists five victims and says none were injured. One of the victims was pregnant and EMS responded. 

“The suspect had fled the area prior to officers arrival but were known by the victims,” says the report. 

According to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records, James was booked around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday. He is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and sale or delivery of a pistol to, and possession by, certain person unlawful. He remains in the center as of 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
