EMS units and police responded to a shooting at the Compass Cove Resort in Myrtle Beach on Saturday night,
The incident was first reported just after 10:30 pm.
By midnight, a suspect was detained by police for questioning, said Capt. David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
A police report indicates Craig Tallambadge Williams, 45, was taken into custody in connection to the assault. Williams was charged Sunday with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The shooting happened at 2311 South Ocean Boulevard, said Lt. Joey Crosby of the Myrtle Beach Police.
Someone fired the shots in a hallway of the 9th floor of Compass Cove Resort, Knipes added.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment after suffering “serious injury” in the shooting, police said.
A condition for the victim was not available.
