CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW)- Deputies say they have now captured both men wanted in connection to a shootout and chase that happened on Highway 90 near Conway Thursday morning.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Patrick Joseph Cassidy was taken into custody shortly before midnight following an extensive manhunt in the Coward/Effingham area of Florence County.

Cassidy was wanted by the Horry County Police Department for three counts of Attempted Murder stemming from a shooting incident which occurred outside of Conway.

Cassidy was also wanted by Florence County on one count of Grand Larceny from an unrelated incident.

The FCSO Aviation along with FCSO Tracking and Apprehension Canines, Investigators and Special Operations personnel began tracking Cassidy with the assistance of the US Marshalls Service, SLED, SCDNR, SCPPP, and the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office Tracking Team.

Other Agencies assisting in the operation throughout its entirety were the Coward Police Dept., Pamplico Police Dept. and SC Highway Patrol.

Cassidy was taken to the Florence County Detention Center in Effingham upon his arrest.

Deputies say at this time, the investigation is still currently active and additional charges are possible.
