A man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting on North Coit Street in Florence.
Officers responded to the 500 block of North Coit Street around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday for a shooting, according to Lt. Mike Brandt, with the Florence Police Department. Officers found one victim with injuries at the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital for “reportedly not life-threatening injuries.”
The suspect left in an unknown direction, Lt. Brant also said. The shooting is believed to have happened after an argument between the victim and the suspect.
The suspect was identified as Jimmy Junior Wilson. He was arrested around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday in the 700 block of West Sumter Street.
Wilson was transported to the Florence County Detention Center and has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
