MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A man accused of staying in a Myrtle Beach motel without permission is now facing a drug charge.
According to reports from police in Myrtle Beach and court officials, Daisean Sherray Clements-Satchell, was caught at the Sea Palms Motel in the 300 block of 7th Avenue North on Tuesday.
An affidavit says managers at the motel flagged down an officer to report someone staying in a room that was supposed to be vacant.
The officer knocked on the door, and according to the affidavit, Clements-Satchell answered the door with a 32 oz Ball Mason jar filled with bags of what appeared to be marijuana.
The material in the Mason jar weighed 4.6 grams.
Clements-Satchell was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
According to an incident report and a separate affidavit,Clements-Satchell was also charged with burglary for an incident dating back to the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018.
Those documents say Clements-Satchell stole a TV, DVD Player, VCR, vase from a home on the 3700 block of N. Ocean Blvd.
An incident report says someone called police to say someone appeared to be staying at the home, even though it was supposed to be vacant.
That was on January 1, 2018.
The caller told police she had seen lights on around seven o’clock the night before, but could not stop to check it out because she had her child in the car.
She went back on January 1st and noticed sand on the floor and a first-floor bedroom was locked. She said she could hear people talking inside.
She called the homeowner who said no one was supposed to be staying in the home.
The report says the responding officer checked the home and it was empty, but the officer did find trash, alcohol, DVD players, TV, hoodie, baseball cap,sunglasses, cigarettes, cell phone.
After looking over the home a TV, DVD player, VCR were missing from some of the rooms.
Investigators looked at surveillance video and found a suspect at the home on December 14 and 15.
According to the affidavit, the same suspect, later identified as Clements-Satchell, was seen taking items from the home on January 1.
The affidavit says Clements-Satchell drove the stolen property to the Circle K at 1100 N. Kings Hwy before going to the Aquarius Motel.
The arrest warrant for burglary was signed in February of this year.
The arrest warrant for the drug charge was signed on April 10.
Another suspect named in the incident report, Antwon NasirMcCoy, is also charged with burglary 1st degree.
