HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – A Hartsville man is in jail after deputies caught him burglarizing a Hartsville church and attempting to steal several items from the worship center, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Wayne Byrd says his office received a call about a burglary at Calvary Church of the Nazarene on Patrick Highway Tuesday evening. When deputies arrived at the church, all of the lights were on inside the building and a window had been busted.
The suspect, identified as Justin Corey Anderson, 29, of Hartsville, attempted to leave the church and that’s when deputies arrested him, Sheriff Byrd adds. Deputies say Anderson had piled up several items, like radio equipment, televisions and key chains, to be taken from the church.
Anderson is charged with burglary second degree.
