NEW BERN, NC – Deputies in Craven County need help finding a suspect in several robbery and assault cases that stem from meetings planned via a website.
The Craven County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday that a man has been involved in the robbery and assault cases at hotels in the Craven County area.
The violent robberies are set up when the man arranges meetings with women from the website Backpage.com at local hotels, deputies say.
Once the women are inside the hotel room, he then assaults and robs them.
Deputies said they were able to capture images of the suspect on surveillance video.
