MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – On Wednesday officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department arrested a man in connection to a shots fired incident that happened in April.
Daniel Lee Suiter has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
According to a police report, the incident happened late at night on Mr. Joe White Avenue on April 8. Officers were called to the area for a ‘shooting incident’. The report does not mention any injuries in connection to the case.
Here’s what happened as described in the affidavit:
Interviews and video show Suiter engaged in a drug transaction with the victim. The victim tried to steal the drugs from Suiter and “ran from the defendant’s truck without paying for them.”
Suiter then got out of his truck, racked the handgun’s side and began shooting at the victim as he continued to chase him north on Chester Street. The victim said he felt the asphalt kicking up at the back of his feet as the bullets struck the ground.
Suiter remains in J. Reuben Long with no bail set as of Thursday afternoon.
