MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A man has been arrested nearly a year after allegedly punching and kidnapping a woman in Myrtle Beach.

According to J. He was booked around 7:41 p.m. on Wednesday and remains in the center as of 5:15 p.m. Thursday.

On May 27, 2018 around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of 4th Ave. N and Balsam St. for a report of an assault, according to an incident report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The 27-year-old victim stated that on the night of May 25, 2018, while at the Ole Shillelagh Sports Bar, the suspect punched the victim in the mouth.

The suspect then allegedly took the woman “by force” to the Bayview hotel on N. Ocean Blvd. and would not allow her to leave, the report said. About two days later, around 5:30 p.m. on May 27, the woman was able to leave the room and fled to the 900 block of 4th Ave. N.

Upon arriving at this location, the suspect was already there, the report also said. The victim then tried to retrieve her cellphone from the suspect, who allegedly “became irate” with the victim, showed a gun, and threatened to shoot the victim. The suspect then allegedly left the area in an unknown direction with the victim’s cellphone.
