NICHOLS AREA, SC (WBTW) – A man has been arrested in connection with an October 2018 shooting in Horry County.
Rico Lee Jackson, 27, of Loris, is charged with armed robbery and burglary, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records. He was booked around 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday and remains in the center as of about 2:30 p.m. on Friday. No bail has been set.
Officers were dispatched to area of Hwy 430 near Nichols around 7 p.m. on October 26 in reference to a shooting, according to an incident report from the Horry County Police Department. Upon entering a home, police were notified that the victim, a 55-year-old man, was inside and had been shot in the leg.
A sergeant reportedly approached the victim and could see that he was bleeding from the left leg, near the knee area.
The victim reportedly told police that he was robbed and shot in the leg by unknown suspects. The victim was transported to a hospital for the gunshot wound.
No information on the victim’s condition is available.
