A man has been arrested in connection with a kidnapping in Bennettsville. 

Terry Keoffa Drayton, Jr., 31, was arrested by the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a kidnapping that happened in Bennettsville on Tuesday, according to a press release from the MCSO. He was arrested as a result of an investigation by the MCSO. 

Drayton allegedly broke into a home and kidnapped “a victim who was forced to leave the residence with Drayton against their will,” the release says. Law enforcement with the MCSO responded and was “able to rescue the victim without incident at Drayton’s residence in the city limits of Bennettsville.” The victim received medical attention for minor injuries sustained during the incident.

Drayton is charged with first degree burglary, kidnappping, and first degree assault, according to the release. He is being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center.
