A police report from the Horry County Police Department says officers responded to the Kangaroo Express, located at 3656 S. Highway 701, on May 26 in reference to a robbery. Upon arriving, officers spoke with a man, who said a person walked in and used the restroom along with another male in a white button down shirt and a white hat.

The complainant also told police the suspect left and returned a few minutes later in a late model white Ford F150, according to the report. The complainant said the suspect got in line to check out or buy something. When he was checking out the suspect, the complainant said the suspect reached across the counter and into the cash register, taking money.

The complainant stated to police at first, he tried to stop the suspect, but the suspect started threatening him, the report says. The complainant then said he backed up and the suspect said he would kill the complainant if he called the police. Once the suspect left, the complainant contacted his manager. He also told police the suspect frequents the store and the trailer park across the street.

According to the report, officers watched the incident on video and it happened as the complainant said.
