A man was arrested after a Florence burglary and was reportedly wearing a school district uniform in surveillance video.
Officers with the Florence Police Department responded to a residence in the 600 block of Red Tip Circle for a burglary around 3:45 p.m. on January 18, according to a press release from the FPD. Responding officers didn’t locate anyone inside the home, but later obtained surveillance video of the incident from a victim. The suspect seen in the video was reportedly wearing a Florence School District One uniform.
Tevin Leshea Washington was arrested on Jan. 22 as a result of an investigation, the release said. Washington was charged with third degree burglary and transported to the Florence County Detention Center.
Washington, 28, of Florence, was released from the Florence County Detention Center around 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 23, according to booking records. Bond was set at $20,000.
Pam Little-McDaniel, with Florence School District One, confirmed to News13 that Washington is an employee and has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
