Man arrested after drugs, guns, money seized from home in Mullins

MULLINS, SC (WBTW) – A man was arrested after drugs, guns, and money were seized from a home in Mullins.

The Marion County Combined Drug Unit served a search warrant at a home on Dixon Street in Mullins on Thursday following an investigation and citizen complaints, according to a press release from Judy Barker, with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, prescription medication, firearms, and currency were seized during the search.

Gregory Lavon McCollum Sr., 44 of Mullins was arrested.

“This case is a perfect example of the community reaching out for help and our officers answering the call. We received numerous complaints and tips about the illegal activity coming from this drug dealer and our officers diligently responded by building a case that allowed us to execute a search warrant on this crime den,” Sheriff Brian Wallace stated. “The dangerous criminal was found with copious amounts of illegal street narcotics, prescriptions drugs, illegal firearms and ammunition, and large amounts of cash that he hoped to reap as part of his reward for being a drug dealer.”

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Mullins Police Department, and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division assisted the MCCDU.
