MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Stacy Boezi who makes kombucha in the Myrtle Beach area joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. on Tuesday to talk about the beverage.
Kombucha is fermented tea. Boezi is a registered nurse who began making kombucha to help resolve her husband’s gastrointestinal (g.i) issues. According to Boezi, the history of kombucha goes back to China 2000 years ago, and it was taken to Japan to help a Japanese ruler with g.i. issues.
Boezi lists the health benefits as the following:
- heals the gut (probiotics, enzymes and yeasts) which helps with reflux, constipation, diarrhea, IBS and many other issues of the GI track.
- helps with energy (because of B1,B2,B6,B12)
- immune support (because of Vitamin C)
- cancer prevention
- decreases inflammation
- joint support (because of organic acids)
- weight Loss
- many other remedies
