LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – Officials in Lumberton have released the name of the man killed in a shooting Monday night and continue to ask the community for help solving the crime.
Lumberton Police Captain Terry Parker says Reggie Copeland was shot Monday around 6:41 p.m. on Carolina Avenue. Copeland then ran to Jerome Street where he saw people, told them he had been shot, then collapsed.
Officers called to the scene arrived and immediately began CPR on Copeland, who was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Lumberton police are investigating a deadly shooting Monday evening. Police say shortly after 6:30 p.m., a man ran up to a car parked on Jerome Street and said he had been shot and then collapsed.
According to Captain Terry Parker with the Lumberton Police Department says officers arrived on scene, began CPR and was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center where he later died. Investigators believe the shooting happened a block away on Carolina Avenue.
