Lumberton Police and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are investigating a shooting that seriously injured three people Thursday evening.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the Holly Ridge apartment complex around at 7:12 p.m. Holly Ridge is located at 406 Sinclair Street about a mile northeast of Lumberton Junior High School in south Lumberton.
Officer arrived and found no one on the scene but did find evidence of a shooting, said Capt. Terry Parker.
A few minutes later Southeastern Regional Medical Center reported to police that three people with gunshot wounds had arrived at the hospital. The shooting victims were a man and woman from Lumberton and one man from Pembroke. Their current conditions and locations are being withheld for safety reasons, Parker said.
Lumberton investigators and the SBI are following leads in the case, but the only suspect description available is that the shooters were a man and a woman.
