LUMBERTON, SC (WBTW) – Lumberton police are investigating a string of store break-ins they believe are related.
According to Captain Terry Parker with the Lumberton Police Department, all of the break-ins occurred overnight while the stores were closed.
On Sept. 19 at 3:14 a.m., the Save More on Fayetteville Road was broken into by an unknown male suspect. Officials say the suspect broke the glass in the front door and stole an undisclosed amount of carton cigarettes. On Sept. 22 at 4:58 a.m., The Sundo Kwik Shop on Carthage Road was broken into. The suspect broke the glass out of the front door, and stole carton cigarettes. Wednesday at 3:39 a.m. The Speedway store located on West 5th Street was broken into also. The male suspect broke the glass out of the front door and took carton cigarettes.
Officers believe all three break-ins are related but investigators have not ruled out the possibility they are different suspects.
