LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – Lumberton police are looking for a man accused of murdering an 18-year-old Saturday.

According to Captain Terry Parker with the Lumberton Police Department, warrants have been issued for 23-year-old Ryan Hunt  of Lumberton for 1st degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Parker says police responded to a call of shots fired Saturday around 4:56 p.m. on Cooper Street and Warwick Mill Road.

On arrival, officers found the victim, Cameron Brewington, 18, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. First responders administered CPR and took Brewington to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Over the course of the investigation, officials have identified Hunt as the person responsible for Brewington’s death.
