Tribal officials expect about 5,000 people to attend the three-day event.
The powwow will be held at the Southeastern NC Agricultural Events Center, located at 1027 US Highway 74 East in Lumberton, NC.

spring powwow is the tribe’s largest sponsored event.
It typically attracts more than 500 dancers from all over the United States and Canada.
The powwow is a spiritual ceremony and a way to showcase top dancers and drum groups. The spring powwow is always held the first weekend in May to celebrate the arrival of the Spring Moon.
This year,
the
host drum groups are Crazy Spirit and Scissortail.
The head male dancer will be Nick Locklear.
The head female dancer is Heather Jones.
Grand entries will be held on Friday at 7 pm.
