Lucky Shamrock Festival in downtown Florence on Friday, March 17

FLORENCE, SC – The Junior League of Florence in partnership with the Florence Downtown Development Group presents the Fourth Annual Lucky Shamrock Festival in Downtown Florence. This year’s festival will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 17 at the 100 block of South Dargan Street.

“We started the Festival in 2014 as a unique fundraiser for our signature Habitat for Humanity project. We realized there was a need for something other than our normal fundraisers and the idea for Lucky Shamrock was born.” said committee Chairwoman April Smith. “It was very successful and the JLF Board decided to make it an annual event. This year marks our fourth festival and we really enjoy being able to give back to the Florence community.”

Festival goers will enjoy live entertainment provided by Too Much Sylvia who will be playing beach music, Motown and current hits by Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams, Florida Georgia Line and more.  Children will be able to participate in a kids’ zone, presented by T-MOBILE, that will include an inflatable obstacle course, mini golf, face painting, balloon animals, and see a live reptile exhibit!

Food vendors and beverages will be on site. Smith said there will be several Irish options – Reuben Fritters, Irish Pasties, and Whiskey Cured Salmon to name a few. More kid-friendly food options will be available including chicken tenders, nachos, fries, and cotton candy. For those craving something sweet, we’ll have specialty funnel cakes, deep fried oreos, Italian ice, green kettlecorn, cake jars, cookies and more.

“We also have a unique item this year, limited edition Lucky Shamrock Festival t-shirts. They were highly requested last year and we wanted to meet that request. We have about 40 shirts so they’re going to go quickly! The money raised from the t-shirt sales will enable us to donate school uniforms to children in need.,” said committee member Katherine Barnette. “The t-shirts are $15 and available at the Junior League’s booth.”

Everyone is encouraged to wear green or purchase St. Patrick’s Day merchandise from the Junior League’s booth. Festival-goers will be able to purchase tickets on-site for anything they may want to buy. Each ticket is priced at $1.

Proceeds from the event will benefit several community non-profit organizations that the Junior League has partnered with.
