LORIS, SC (WBTW) – A Loris man has been charged with attempted armed robbery and failure to stop after a police chase.
Michael Sherrod, 27, was arrested on Saturday after he drove his car into a ditch while fleeing from police, according to an incident report. Police said they tried to stop the car when they tracked it going 80 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.
Sherrod also was charged with armed robbery in a June 2017 incident when police said he tried to allegedly rob a Loris man with a sawed-off shotgun. The victim told police Sherrod pointed a shotgun at him and asked him about the whereabouts of his drugs, according to a police report.
Tameeka Sherrod, 25, of Loris, also was charged in the June 2017 incident with malicious damage to personal property. The victim told police Tameeka hit him on the back of his head and snatched his cellphone away, according to the report
Michael Sherrod has been released on a $54,955 bond. Tameeka Sherrod has been released on a $500 bond.
