LORIS, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Police are hoping photos from a bank robbery in Loris will help the community identify the suspect so officers can take him off the streets.
Lt Raul Denis with the police department says officers responded to an armed robbery call at the Anderson Brothers Bank in Loris around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The police report details how the man covered his head with a red bandanna and wore dark sunglasses while approaching the bank teller with a black pistol. The robber also appeared to be wearing “some sort of mask” because his mouth never moved when he spoke, the report states.
In the report, one victim told police “the suspect looked like a customer and by the time she realized what was happening, she did not have time to hit the panic button.”
Police say several bank workers were forced at gunpoint to the vault, then the suspect demanded that some of the victims load the contents of the vault into two black trash bags.
Horry County police released surveillance photos of the suspect and the man’s car. Police say the suspect is a male about 6′ tall, last seen wearing a black jump suit, grey Nike shoes, and fled the bank in a white car.
