Dozens of local veterans gathered to make sure prisoners of war and those missing in action are never forgotten.
Members of the local Rolling Thunder chapter held a ceremony to replace the POW/MIA flag on the Myrtle Beach boardwalk. Organizers said they gather several times a year to replace the flag, after weather conditions wear away at it. The veterans organization has raised several POW flags in the area to honor those who have served, and the many families who still have yet to receive closure. “It means a lot to me. I served for 30 years so that flag, the American flag and the POW flag mean a whole heck of a lot to me,” said Robert Wichowski, board chairman of Rolling Thunder SC Chapter 3.
