Community members are helping to raise money for the victims of the Windsor Green apartment fire that left several people without a home on Thursday night.
Heather and Paige Brennan, 13-year-old twins who attend Ten Oaks Middle School, set up a stand outside of Famous Toastery in Carolina Forest on Saturday, with their mother, to fundraise for those families. They collected gift cards and cash for nine families impacted by the fire, on behalf of Catholic Charities.
“Somebody in the community is in a time of need and I feel like the community should try and come together and help them, in any way possible. If it was me, I would hope the community would do the same,” said Heather.
The Brennans will be back outside of Famous Toastery to collect donations on Sunday, from 10 AM to 1 PM. If you would like to donate a gift card, they said Walmart gift cards, or anything similar, are preferable.
