MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Ivy Long, the shopkeeper at Olde Magick Ways in Murrells Inlet, joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m on Wednesday to talk about energy and holistic healing.
The shop has herbs, oils and energy stones to help people with natural alternatives for their health.
Long covered everything from Reiki energy healing and the body’s chakras, to energy stones, herbs and oils.

- What is Reiki? Reiki is energy healing. We have 7 Chakras or energy centers within our body. These centers control a different aspect of our health and well being. Reiki relaxes the body – and prepares it to heal itself naturally. It is non-invasive. All practioners have different styles and techniques. Katrina, our Reiki Master at Olde Magick Ways has a hands off approach and may use oils and crystals.
- What are crystal and stones used for? You cannot create energy or destroy it so all things carry energy. Crystals, stones, oils, etc. all carry various energy vibrations. So for example, carnelian can help with digestive issues as well as can be grounding. Rose Quartz can help with the emotional heart.
- What is holistic healing? Holistic healing is using anything that is nature based. Herbs, stones, oils, water, etc. to again assist with preventative care and the healing process. Herbs like lavender and chamomile can be used to calm or sooth. A lot of medications that we use today, were derived from herbs.
- What is your event on Wednesday evenings? We have “The Gathering” every Wednesday from 7p-9 p.m. Like-minded people get together and share information. This week we’ll be discussing more of the metaphysical side of life. Prior to “The Gathering” we have R.M Bonham, a local published author having a book signing.
