A Little River man has been sentenced to 13 years on drug trafficking and gun charges. 

Taron Badie, 30, pleaded guilty to trafficking heroin and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime on Wednesday, according to a press release from the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Badie was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the trafficking heroin charge and five years for the weapon charge. These sentences will run concurrently. 

“A thank you to the agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit for their hard work in investigating this case and helping to secure this conviction for another person trafficking heroin in our community,” said David P. Caraker, Jr., a senior assistant solicitor who prosecuted the case.
