, Latta, SC (WBTW) – Latta lost its last two regular season games, but the Vikings are hoping to find lightning in a bottle this postseason and have success in the 2A playoffs. The team is counting on its seniors to be leaders in the postseason.
“We really have a good group of seniors that set the tone,” Coach Brandon Iseman said. “They understand the situation, they understand the sense of urgency that it’s win or go home. So I think they did a good job of setting the tone at the beginning of the week.”
Last week, the Vikings won a big road game in the first round of the playoffs, taking down North Charleston with ease, 43-12 and will look to do the same on the road against Bamberg-Ehrhardt. They met the Red Raiders in the playoffs last year, with Bamberg-Ehrhardt getting the best of that matchup, ending Latta’s season.
“They have a solid football team,” Coach Iseman said. “They’re always very good, they’re very fundamentally sound. They’re well coached. They play extremely hard and they’re extremely physical. And they probably have the best defense in 2A.”
Latta’s game at Bamberg-Ehrhardt starts at 7:30 p.m.
