Latta Police Chief to run for Dillon County Sheriff

LATTA, SC (WBTW) – Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore notified Latta Town Council that she intends to run for Dillon County Sheriff in November.

Jarret Taylor, councilman and 2016 Latta Town Administrator, says Moore advised council members that she will run in the November 8 election as an independent candidate.

Chief Moore posted to her Facebook page Wednesday morning that she feels it’s time for a change in Dillon County and that she’s the person for the job.

“I think it’s time for a change in Dillon County and I feel that I can do a great job with that change. I am petitioning for Sheriff of Dillon County. I would like to ask for prayers and support as I begin this journey,” writes Chief Moore.

Chief Moore goes on to say she plans to get signatures for petition to run for sheriff after work Wednesday. Once the paperwork is certified, Chief Moore says her name will be listed as an independent candidate for sheriff.
