LATTA, SC (WBTW) – Deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Friday in connection to a murder that happened Tuesday.
Captain Cliff Arnette of Dillon County Sheriff’s Office says Benjamin Jarvis Bethea, 21, of Latta was arrested on Friday and charged with the murder of H’Keem McClellan. The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dillon Police Department, Latta Police Department and SLED.
Dillon County deputies found the body in a vehicle just before 1 a.m. Tuesday in Latta. Arnette says the incident didn’t happen in Latta where the body was found, but it did occur somewhere in the county.
Previous records say that this was not the first time Bethea was charged with murder.
Dillon County Deputies charged Bethea and another man in a deadly shooting that happened at The Legion Club near Latta in 2013. One victim died from the shooting and three others were injured on Aug. 24, 2013. Bethea was released on bond shortly after the murder.
