AYNOR – Dillon hit two late home runs to beat Aynor 9-3 Saturday in the first round of the Class 2A Lower State tournament.
The Wildcats play the winner of Waccamaw and Bishop England in the winner’s bracket. The Warriors host the Battling Bishops Monday at 6 p.m.
Dillon led 4-0 entering the third inning before Aynor rallied. Caleb Nobles drove in a run in the third, and Nick Fowler followed with a two-run home run in the fourth to get the Blue Jackets within 4-3.
Dillon answered with a three-run sixth inning including a two-run blast from Gunnar Grosetti that extended the Wildcats lead to 7-3. Duncan Callahan added another two-run shot in the ninth.
