DILLON, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Forestry Commission says its crews helped fight a large fire in Dillon County Friday night.
Justin Holt, SCFC public information coordinator, told News13 the fire is burning in the area of West Canal Road and Carter Road.
Holt says the fire was 55 acres in size and did not threaten any structures.
The SCFC had six tractor/plow units on scene helping to contain the flames. Holt says the fire was fully contained at 11:30 p.m. Friday. Crews are still on scene investigating what caused the fire and making sure there are no hot-spots.
