LAMAR, SC (WBTW) – The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office says deputies continue to follow leads in a recent string of home burglaries in Lamar, but no arrests have been made.
Deputies say televisions and guns, along with other items have been taken from homes.
Since Friday afternoon, News13 has spoken with several families in Lamar regarding the recent burglaries, and neighbors say they can’t recall anything like these home break-ins happening within their small community.
“I believe we’re over 20 plus break-ins you know within a small area. You know we’ve never seen anything like this,” said Eric Doran.
Doran lives on the outskirts of Lamar and says the community is still on edge after last week’s first reported home break-in.
“I’ve kept an eye out on all of my neighbors’ houses and I’m sure they’ve looked over my house when I’m not here,” explains Doran. “Whoever it takes, arrest the person or persons responsible, gets this resolved quickly and put them away for a long time so that we can go back to sleeping at night and not with one eye open.”
Doran is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who offers information to law enforcement about who could be behind these break-ins.
