COWARD, SC (WBTW) – Florence County deputies arrested a Lake City woman they say was involved in a shooting at a Coward nightclub.
According to a press release, Mildred Monica Montgomery, 27, shot someone in the chest with a pistol Sunday night at a nightclub on Karisma Road near Coward. The victim and Montgomery had gotten into a verbal and physical fight prior the the shooting, the release stated.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The condition of the victim has not been released.
Montgomery is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
She is being held at the Florence County Detention Center and will likely appear before a Florence County Magistrate for a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say additional charges are possible.
