LAKE CITY, SC (WBTW) – Lake City students became rocket scientists Saturday. One retired NASA Educational Outreach Specialist, Fred Wilson, taught about a dozen students how to create a rocket. Wilson is now a resident Rocketry and Aeronautics Guru at Science South.

Then they braved the cold conditions to launch the rockets.

The Lake City Creative Alliance hopes make Science and Art fun for students.

Patrick Pickney, Lake City Creative Alliance Community Liaison said, “It’s really exciting to see them. We just let them have their own flow and own way and let them explore their own creativity. We just step back.”

The group plan to meet again next year.
